High Quality Hardware
Only the latest Dell enterprise servers, including redundant components wherever possible.
All Layershift servers feature hot-swap disks so that we can replace without interruption to
your service, whilst our premium servers also feature hot-swap, redundant power supplies.
In the unlikely event of hardware failure, we maintain a complete inventory of replacement server components and always have equivalent or higher specification servers spare for prompt disaster recovery.

Dynamic Migrations
All Layershift dedicated servers are deployed with an advanced software layer which allows us to move a complete copy of your data between dedicated servers without any changes to files, software versions, or settings; usually without a single second of downtime! Regular Flexible Backups
Most providers only perform a daily backup (often at additional charge) - potentially 23 hours of lost data! You need to spend a lot of time reconstructing orders, chasing lost customers, trying to recover valuable work and revenue! Plus the legacy tape backup systems used by many other hosting providers can take a huge amount of time to restore, increasing downtime and damage to your brand.
Layershift take backups every 6 hours as standard (or hourly backups with our enterprise care pack!) and can rapidly restore a single file/database or your entire server to recover as quickly as possible from any of these recovery points in the past 14 days.

FAQs
How many sites can I host?
It depends on the website coding efficiency (e.g. dynamic / database driven, or static), how busy each website is, and of course which server specification you use. Your server control panel is initially licensed for hosting up to 10 domains, but you can increase this at any time for a small monthly fee.
Please contact our sales engineers to discuss your requirements in more detail and we'll be happy to advise further.
What if I exceed the monthly traffic quota?
Don't worry, our limits are intentionally very generous, so it's very unlikely you'll reach them anyway. However, if you're lucky enough to reach 80% of your monthly quota limit we'll get in touch to let you know, and again at 100%.
Why don't you offer unlimited traffic?
Networks don't have unlimited bandwidth, so any provider selling this is misrepresenting their service to you. What else are they hiding?
High performance networks are expensive to run, and every byte of traffic has a real cost to the provider. That cost is built into their pricing, and you can be certain they're not going to lose money selling a server to you - so they'll have covert ways of making sure your bandwidth usage is (in)appropriately controlled. In other words, to slow you down.
Even though we don't give you so-called unlimited traffic it's very unlikely that you'll reach our limits - they're intentionally very generous. We're up-front and honest with our service, and this enables us to provide you with high performance servers at a fair price.
